The Oklahoma State School Board will meet Thursday morning

The Oklahoma State Board of Education will meet Thursday with several important items on its agenda.

They will discuss the revocation of the teaching certificates of two Kingfisher High School coaches who face criminal charges related to hazing allegations.

Jeff Meyers is charged with child neglect and Micah Nall is charged with child abuse and perjury.

The board voted to initiate proceedings to revoke both of their certificates in February.

State Superintendent Ryan Walters is also expected to speak on the state Supreme Court’s recent ruling against a state-funded religious school and the role of the Bible and the Ten Commandments in schools.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be broadcast on the department’s Facebook page.
