Donald Trump’s team launches mugshot-inspired products

Donald Trump’s campaign team has started selling merchandise featuring his photo.

The historic photo was released by Georgian authorities after the former US president – accused of trying to overturn his 2020 election defeat – turned himself in to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

Trump, 77, then posted his own photo on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The post was Trump’s first on X since January 2021 and also included a link to his official website.

The image has already been plastered on various Trump team items, including T-shirts, coffee mugs and bumper stickers.

Trump and 18 co-defendants were given a deadline of Friday (25.08.23) to voluntarily surrender after being charged with trying to overturn the election result.

Earlier this month, the billionaire businessman claimed he was the victim of a political “witch hunt.”

Trump, who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, took to social media to dismiss the allegations and question the integrity of the judicial process.

Trump, who still intends to run in the next US election, wrote on Truth Social at the time: “So the witch hunt continues! 19 people were exposed tonight, including the former President of the United States, myself, by an out of control and very corrupt District Attorney who campaigned and raised money on the premise of ‘I’m gonna get Trump.’ And what about these indictment documents released today, well before the grand jury even voted, and then quickly withdrawn? That seems rigged to me! Why didn’t they indict 2.5 years ago? Because they wanted to do it right in the middle of my political campaign. Witch hunt! (sic)”
