President’s speech did nothing for poor, Dalits: Kharge

New Delhi, July 1 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said it was disappointing that the President’s address to both the Houses of Parliament did not mention any threat to the Constitution and democracy.

Speaking in Hindi during the debate on the motion of thanks on President Droupadi Murmu’s speech in Parliament, Kharge said the speech, which is a statement of government policy, was full of self-appreciation and did not offer no message to the weaker sections of society.

“We are disappointed that there is nothing for the poor, Dalits, marginalized sections or backward classes,” he said.
