“I feel that now we are ready to fight with Maverick Viñales” – Raúl Fernández

Raúl Fernández achieved one of his best results of the season at the Dutch MotoGP GP, finishing eighth. Although he is satisfied and feels capable of competing with Maverick Viñales (Aprilia), he is aware of the progress to be made.

The Trackhouse Racing rider recognized the significant gap with the leading Ducati bikes, emphasizing the need to focus on electronics on his side:

– I’m happy, but when I saw Ducati’s race, we lost more than 20 seconds; it’s quite difficult to see where we can improve our bike. We know that we have room for improvement, we are working on the electronics, but I am not 100% comfortable. We are working well, but that is not enough. We must continue to work on the electronics side. Now this is our worst point at Aprilia.

Although Fernández recognizes the need to improve, he expressed confidence in his ability to compete with Viñales, who has been the reference rider at Aprilia: “Our bike is working well, we have already seen that Maverick was quite competitive, he fought for the podium until the end. I feel that now we are ready to fight with him, but we have to work on the electronics and see how I can exploit the maximum potential of the bike.‘.
