Ivanka Trump Breaks Silence on Her Father’s Legal Troubles in New Interview

“On a human level, he’s my dad, and I love him very much, so it’s painful to go through,” she told podcaster Lex Fridman. “But ultimately, I wish it hadn’t happened that way.”

Unlike her brothers Don Jr. and Eric, Ivanka Trump did not attend her father’s trial and has not spoken much about the ongoing legal cases. In May, after the former president was convicted in New York, she posted a photo of herself with him as a child, accompanied by the phrase “I love you, Dad.”

Although she has been a fixture in the White House and her father’s campaign in the past, Ivanka Trump said in 2022 that she has no plans to return to politics, but will instead prioritize her children and family.

She explained to Fridman that she made the decision as a parent because “politics is a very tough job.”

She added: “Politics is a pretty dark world. There’s a lot of darkness, a lot of negativity, and it’s really at odds with what I think is good as a human being.”
