Cat Deeley has admitted she “barely” made it to This Morning on time after struggling to get into the studios following a security incident.

The presenter, 47, revealed she accidentally swapped building cards with her co-host Ben Shephard, 49, causing them both to struggle to get into the ITV studios.

Cat told her Instagram followers that she arrived in her dressing room just in time to get ready for the daytime TV show.

As she was drying her hair, she said: “I had a little trouble with security today, but I managed to get into the building… just barely.”

She also wrote: “@benshephardofficial might be in some trouble. He has my pass!! @thismorning.”

The blonde beauty broke out in a coughing fit as she chatted to ITV doctors, leaving Ben to take over alone.

As she left the set, Ben told viewers: “I think Cat is going to have to slip away because she’s about to have a coughing fit! We’ve got medics here, everything’s fine!”

Later in the show, Ben asked Cat if she had recovered from her cough after fans expressed concern for the TV star.

She said, “I think so, pretty much. My eye hurts a little bit, but I’ll be okay.”

Viewers expressed their concern on X, formerly known as Twitter, after Cat was forced to leave the air.

Some wrote: “I hope Cat is ok. I’ve had coughing fits like this and it’s not funny #ThisMorning.”

“Can someone get some buttercup syrup for Cat #ThisMorning”

“Cat probably should have called in sick… #thismorning.”

It comes after Cat was left outraged on This Morning during a money-saving segment with Jordon Cox after discovering there is a pink tax on products advertised to women.

This Morning’s Coupon King Jordon appeared on the ITV show on Wednesday to share his latest money-saving tips with Cat and Ben.

The pink tax is not a tax in the literal sense of the word. It refers to the fact that women pay more than men for the same or similar products and services.

During the show, Jordon told both presenters that the pink tax wasn’t always applied to products, but he added that it “still happens a little bit.”

It also revealed that if a woman bought a pack of razors, she would buy fewer razors than her male counterpart, even though she would pay more than him.

Female buyers also pay more for the scent and color of a razor, which made Cat laugh sarcastically.

Jordon then made the same distinction with shaving cream and Cat could no longer contain her dismay.

She raged: “I’m furious! I’m furious about this pink tax,” before adding: “I’m really irritated, I’m definitely going to put that one in the bag.”

The presenter then threw the tube of shaving foam she was holding in the bin before admitting she had taken to buying “little boy socks” to avoid the tax.
