Report says New York will miss climate deadline

New York State’s climate law requires the Public Utilities Commission (PSC) to issue a progress report on the state’s progress in its clean energy transition.

The law requires the state to reach a goal of 70 percent renewable energy by 2030. Although the report says New York will not meet that goal and the Hochul administration is considering extending the deadline to 2033, there is some optimism in New York.

Marguerite Wells, the new executive director of the Alliance for Clean Energy New York, discussed the situation with Capital tonight presenter Susan Arbetter.
