Mid-Century Inspired Home Renovations: Wagoya House

The Alloi team is rebuilding Wagoya House based on mid-century Eichler homes to honor the iconic architectural styles. They are also incorporating modern design elements to make it more current. Wagoya House is located in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles.

It was a dated ranch before it was recently renovated. The house is built using a Japanese post and beam method called Wagoya. The name refers to the harmonious blend of natural materials, functionality, and green building. Before the renovation, the house was clad in vinyl sliding doors with leaky windows and the yard had little to no privacy. Today, it is an enclosed sanctuary that fuses elements of modernity and nature.
