Are the annual Rochester, Minnesota fireworks cancelled this year?

As rain prepares to fall across lower Minnesota, the biggest question people are asking right now is, “Are fireworks still happening?” Stillwater and Valleyfair have already made decisions about their fireworks shows due to the flooding, but for other cities in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, updates are starting to come in.

Will Rochester, Minnesota Cancel Fireworks This Year?

Many residents of southeast Minnesota gather in downtown Rochester, Minnesota to watch the breathtaking spectacle unfold in the sky above Soldiers Field. 4th Fest is a free event that features live music, activities, and even a few food trucks joining in the fun. To cap off the night, fireworks are set off and people gather throughout various parking lots, on parking ramps, and in the park to enjoy the lights in the sky.

Previously shared information about the 4th Festival indicated that this event would take place regardless of rain or shine. However, with the latest forecast, the question of whether the event would take place in the rain is now being asked.

Here is the latest update regarding the 4th annual festival and fireworks for Rochester, Minnesota.

At approximately 9:30am on Wednesday, July 3rd, the following update was shared regarding the 4th annual Rochester, Minnesota Festival:

Good morning Rochester! Our team is closely monitoring the weather conditions and we will update you on Fourth Fest plans at 3pm today.

At approximately 3pm on Wednesday, July 3, an update with the following news was provided:

The City of Rochester continues to monitor weather conditions as they relate to tomorrow’s 4th Annual Festival. For now, the event and fireworks will go ahead as planned.

How to Know if Fireworks Are Canceled in Rochester, Minnesota

If the status of the 4th Festival or the fireworks changes for the City of Rochester, we will notify you on our websites, Facebook pages, and apps. For those who have enabled notifications from our station app, you will receive a notification on your device with the latest information.
