Jurgen Klopp receives new job offer after Liverpool exit as ex-Man Utd player offers to lead negotiations

A former Manchester United player has offered to help Jurgen Klopp land his next job by leading negotiations.

Jurgen Klopp enjoyed a highly successful nine-year tenure as Liverpool manager but decided to step down at the end of last season.

Klopp announced his intention to step down in January, saying he needed a break after more than two decades in management.

The German informed the club of his intentions two months before coming forward, allowing them to conduct an extensive search for a new coach, resulting in the appointment of Arne Slot.

Klopp has certainly made the most of his first summer off in years, spending time in Mallorca and attending Germany’s Euro 2024 games.

With Klopp insisting there is “no question” of him not returning to management, could international management be something that interests him?

In recent months, reports have linked the 57-year-old to both Germany and the United States.

Julian Nagelsmann is doing an impressive job with Germany, but Gregg Berhalter’s position as USMNT coach looks increasingly precarious.

Earlier this week, the 2024 Copa America hosts exited the tournament at the group stage, losing to Panama and Uruguay.

The U.S. Soccer Federation will conduct a thorough review of the team’s misconduct, which could result in Berhalter being fired.

American fans would love Klopp to become their new manager, especially former Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard.

In a column for the Daily Mail, the 45-year-old even offered to fly to Spain on behalf of US Soccer to negotiate a contract with Klopp.

“After the disappointment of the Copa America, after the USA lost to Uruguay and were eliminated in the group stage, I will personally be flying to Spain. I really mean it,” Howard wrote.

“I know Klopp has only been retired for a few weeks and I know he wants a break. But if we were sitting around his villa in Spain, I think I could lure him here. 100 per cent.

“The money is certainly there. So my argument would be simple: he has a group of young players who can play progressive, attacking football, just like his Liverpool teams. And in two years’ time he could be in the biggest World Cup in history.”
