The Boys Season 4, Episode 6 Recap: Top 5 Shocking Moments

Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) had a panic attack, Firecracker (Valorie Curry) offers her breast milk to Homelander, and Joe Kessler (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is out. As always, “The Boys” Season 4 is jam-packed, and we’re here to break it all down.

In episode 6, titled “Dirty Business,” the boys embark on a journey to Tek Knight’s estate, where members of the Seven Sages (Susan Heyward), Firecracker (Valorie Curry), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) have gathered the country’s wealthiest 1% to discuss their scheme to replace Robert Singer with Victoria as president, once he is elected.

On top of that, Noir (Nathan Mitchell) finally reveals himself, fans learn there’s no other way to kill Homelander unless all superheroes are killed, Frenchie won’t allow anyone to visit him in prison, and Hughie (Jack Quaid) is still dealing with the death of his father Hugh (Simon Pegg).

That’s just a fraction of what happened in episode 6. Here are the most shocking moments from the episode.

Billy Butcher in Season 4, Episode 3 of "The boys" (Prime Video)

1. Tek Knight is killed after Hughie gets caught in his sex dungeon

In order to find out what Homelander and his accomplices were up to at Tek Knight’s Federalist Society party, Mother’s Milk devised a plan for Hughie to pose as Webweaver, a superhero with abilities similar to Spider-Man, though his webs shoot out of his butt, like a real spider does. Regardless, after getting Webweaver out of his costume, Hughie’s job was to plant listening devices throughout Tek’s tavern.

However, while the Boys knew that Webweaver was close to Tek, they were unaware that the two were discreet sexual partners, and that Webweaver was attending the party so he could participate in Tek’s “sidekick” audition process which involved torture, bodily fluids, whips, and chains.

“I’m gonna put my swollen clit on your stupid masked face and piss like a skunk. And I just ate asparagus. Do you want that?” Ashley Barrett, Tek’s partner and Vought executive, asks the stranded and disguised Hughie.

Hughie made it through this ordeal, but what gave him away was his inability to say Webweaver’s BDSM safeword, “Zendaya.” Once his cover was blown, Tek decided to cut holes in Hughie’s body and “fuck them.” Luckily, just as Tek was about to cut Hughie open, Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) and Starlight/Annie (Erin Moriarty) burst into the room and free Hughie.

Tek’s death was left to Thomas, his butler and former guardian, who strangled him to death after Tek admitted he wanted to help Homelander create prison camps.

“They need places across the country to express their dissent. Look, I don’t know anything else!” Tek told the Boys before his death.

And before leaving, Kimiko transferred millions of Tek’s money (which he had inherited from the family’s former slave-catching business and now private prison operation).

2. Sage hatches a plan against Robert Singer to help Victoria Neuman become president

Victoria has her hands in her pockets: she’s temporarily teamed up with the Boys to track down more super-killer viruses, she wants to take down Homelander, and she’s also running for Vice President of the United States for Robert Singer, under Homelander’s orders. But now, fans have discovered that she’s also teaming up with Homelander and his colleagues against Robert to help position himself as the next president. During Tek’s “alt-right cocktail party” with the country’s billionaires, Victoria made her case for them to trust her.

“I’m here tonight to tell the truth: The truth is that America is not a democracy. The word democracy makes people feel safe,” Victoria began. “But the Founders never trusted the masses, because the truth is, the masses are stupid. Anyone with a face that says ‘live, laugh, love’ should have no say in how a country is run. People are a workforce that needs a firm, caring hand. There are no nations. There’s Apple, Exxon, and Birkshire Hathaway. Big business is the real superpower here. You should be able to operate without any regulation or restrictions. After all, you’re billionaires. You’re smart enough to know what’s best. At the end of the day, if you support me, that’s what you’re going to get.”

His statements were applauded by the top 1%, indicating that it won’t be long before Homelander’s bigger plot to have superpowers rule the country comes to full fruition.

3. A-Train saves Mother’s Milk’s life, and he finally feels like a real hero

Season 4 was a big moment for A-Train’s story: He’s still trying to win back his family after failing to resist Blue Hawk’s (Nick Wechsler) brutality in Season 3, teaming up to help the Boys and redeem his integrity, all while navigating the blatant and microaggressive racism he faces as a member of the Seven. Fortunately, he seems to have developed a bond with Mother’s Milk, who has been physically overwhelmed by the Boys’ plans as well as her own family issues.

When the Boys break into Tek’s house, they encounter Sage (Susan Heyward), who begins playing mind games with Mother’s Milk, taunting him about her daughter’s problems at school.

“If you kill me, you have to look Janine in the eye. Doesn’t she have enough problems? She got fired, told a boy to eat a bag of shit, and broke his arm. I bet she gets that from you, old dough. She has anger issues, signs of OCD. You see that. You cursed the girl,” Sage tells Mother’s Milk just before she tries to call for help.

That’s when Mother’s Milk shot him in the head.

The entire interaction drove Mother’s Milk to a panic attack. And who came to save him? A-Train. Well, at first, he didn’t want to, but after Kimiko begged him for the sake of Mother’s Milk’s daughter, A-Train accepted the task and dropped him off at the nearest hospital. Before returning to the party, a young boy from the hospital recognized A-Train and the good deed he was doing, which brought a heartwarming smile to A-Train’s face. For the first time in a long time, A-Train felt what it’s like to be a hero.

4. Firecracker did drugs to keep Homelander’s breast milk addiction going

If it wasn’t obvious that Firecracker is obsessed with Homelander, it’s now more obvious than ever. Firecracker has volunteered to take over from now-murdered Vought International executive Madelyn Stillwell (Elisabeth Shue) and become Homelander’s new wet nurse. In Season 1, fans learned about Homelander’s childhood trauma and how it manifested itself in an addiction to breast milk. In the penultimate scene of Episode 6, Firecracker gives up her body to Homelander despite his lack of attraction to her, stating that the arrangement is simply a matter of “loyalty” between the two.

“You made me come. God, you gave me everything. You’re my everything,” Firecracker says just before she unzips her suit, looking like she’s about to take a step toward Homelander. But really, she just wants to show him that she’s taken an unprescribed amount of medication that allows her to produce breast milk, even if it’s gradually making her heart grow.

“What are you doing? I’m not sexually attracted to you,” Homelander tells Firecracker.

“It’s not about sex,” she replies. “No, it’s about loyalty.” She then splashes breast milk on his face.

“You’re not pregnant,” he says, shocked.

“There’s a long course of medication that a person can take to do this: it enlarges the heart just a tiny bit,” she says.

“You did this for me?” Homelander asks.

“I’d do anything for you,” Firecracker says. The scene cuts to Firecracker rocking and nursing Homelander in front of an American flag.

“That’s good, little boy,” Firecracker said to Homelander.

Maybe the southern belle, who has long been labeled as worthless or insignificant in her past, just wants to feel useful to someone. But we’ll see how long that lasts since Homelander hasn’t been kind to Madelyn.

5. Joe Kessler is just another Billy Butcher hallucination

Fans don’t see much of Butcher in Episode 6, as he’s holed up with Butcher and Joe in a barn, trying to force Sameer (Omid Abtahi), the father of Victoria’s one-legged baby, to create more of the super-killer virus. After Sameer tells Butcher that the only way to kill Homelander would be to make a viral serum that would wipe out anyone with Compund V in their veins (i.e. Ryan, Kimiko, and Annie), Butcher begins to consider his options with the help of Joe and his hallucination of his wife Rebecca (Shantel VanSanten).

“We can take them all out,” Joe tells Butcher.

“Billy, you can’t accept this,” Rebecca interjects.

“Listen, buddy. Nobody ever said genocide,” Butcher said.

“Is this a fucking joke?” Joe replies.

“He’s crazy,” Rebecca retorts.

“Who said they all had to go? Every last one of them,” Joe asks.

“He’s talking about murders, Billy, thousands of people,” Rebecca said, trying to reason with Butcher. “And a lot of them are innocent. Okay, I know you.”

“Shut the f— up, you b——!” Joe yells at Rebecca, showing that Joe is not only aware that Rebecca is a hallucination, but that he is one as well.

All the while, Butcher has been talking to Joe’s ghost, who is dead. Butcher then screams in denial that he believes Joe’s hallucination is real.

“Unless of course you have a big brain tumor, you asshole, and that’s why you’re coming to me in the first place,” Joe said. “I’m inside you. I am you, and that’s why when I tell you you want to do this, I’m literally telling you that you really want to do this. So don’t worry, Billy boy. Daddy’s home.”
