Police renew appeal for information in Lois Hanna case. More information below.

Brenda Scott felt as soon as she walked into the room for the SBGHC annual general meeting that the organization wasn’t there to listen to her.

“The layout of the room was telling. The chairs were arranged at the front of the room in a very unusual way,” she recalls. “The board and staff sat with their backs to the audience, metaphorically demonstrating their genuine interest in whatever the audience had to say.”

Seventy-four members of the audience “sat in silence while council members congratulated each other,” Scott said, and were given just 15 minutes to ask questions.

She shares more of her experience and impressions of the meeting in this letter to the editor:

Please note that there is no “Special Edition: Owen Sound Council Agenda” this weekend. Although a council meeting is scheduled for Monday, the agenda had not yet been posted by the time this author boarded a boat to take a group of teenagers to volunteer as lighthouse keepers on Flowerpot Island for a few days. 🛥️

You can find the council agenda here once it’s online, and we’ll be back with a regular edition on Monday.
