Emmerdale fans snap Amy Wyatt at wedding as they spot ‘fire’ mistake

Emmerdale fans were in for a double surprise as Amy Wyatt tied the knot with Matty Barton in stunning scenes. The long-running couple from the ITV soap finally tied the knot during Wednesday night’s (April 17) trip to the Dales.

But the wedding wasn’t without its drama, as Amy’s mum Kerry nearly scuppered the wedding when she couldn’t come up with the money she’d promised to pay for the big day. With everything ready at Home Farm, Kerry confessed that the necklace she’d planned to sell wasn’t worth as much as she thought and she was left penniless.

Amy was heartbroken by her mother’s actions and demanded that she leave immediately, pack her bags, and move out of the house. Luckily, Eric Pollard saved the day and paid for the wedding while walking Amy down the aisle.

Amy, played by Natalie Ann Jamieson, then exchanged vows with Matty, played by Ash Palmisciano, in emotional scenes in front of their friends and family, with Amy’s son Kyle Winchester serving as Matty’s best man.

But for the nuptials, Amy opted for a twist on the traditional wedding dress and chose to wear a chic ivory-coloured ruched gown with a floor-length skirt and strapless bodice and even sported a trusty pair of Doc Martens which had been personalised on the back with their wedding date.

And while the vamp-inspired look for the day, which was completed with a black leather jacket dress that had ‘Wifey’ embroidered on the back, fit Amy’s personality and tendency to do things outside the box, some Emmerdale fans were initially confused by the dress.

One fan asked: “Is the front of her dress stuck in her knickers?” Another added: “Why is her dress tucked into her knickers?” A third shared: “I love Amy’s Dr Martens! I don’t really like the dress. It looks like it’s tucked into her knickers.”

But the wedding itself also received plenty of praise. @geordiegalg said: “Brilliant episode, beautiful wedding. Amy and Matty look perfect together #Emmerdale.” @xKellieLou commented: “Congratulations Amy and Matty. #Emmerdale I really enjoyed this episode.” @blue_laur11 wrote: “Amy and Matty are husband and wife, so cute!! #Emmerdale.” @Winis_World added: “Love Amy’s wedding haircut. Glad Eric saved the day #Emmerdale.”

Meanwhile, others were worried that Amy’s incendiary past would come back to haunt her when she threw her bouquet during the reception, which landed in Victoria Sugden’s hands. One said: “Throwing a bouquet inside with candles around it?!…” Another commented: “Wait… The bouquet was thrown on all these tables with candles lit…? Okay.” A third added: “Throwing a bouquet upside down with candles around it. I’m surprised the wedding didn’t end up in flames.”
