Friends Fans Spot Major Mistake In The Show That Can Only Be Seen On ‘Widescreen TVs’

If you have watched all the episodes of Friends Even though we’ve done this many times, it’s not uncommon to spot a mistake here and there.

After all, the show is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and technology has of course come a long way since then.

Moreover, it is Friendsso no mistake, big or small, takes away from the iconic character of the series.

And that certainly doesn’t stop the British from still being completely obsessed with the American sitcom, which has truly stood the test of time.

From watching the series every Friday night when it first started, to streaming all the seasons on Netflix, the way we watch the series may have changed, but it still gives us those nostalgic feelings.

And as more and more people tune in to watch FriendsViewers started to spot little mistakes that you might not have noticed before.

On TikTok, one fan pointed out a “plot hole” in the show that likely wouldn’t exist if you were watching on an old TV — the kind of TVs around when the show aired.

During a season 10 episode, “The One After Joey and Rachel Kiss,” TikTok user Riley — aka @rileysoley — pointed out a mistake that likely wouldn’t have been there at the time.

“I love it when you can tell something was shot with a camera that had no intention of being shown on a big screen TV,” Riley said.

“I watch Friendsand look at this,” she added, pointing to the wall next to Joey.

“Look at that giant hole in the side of Joey and Chandler’s apartment!”

In the video, we can see a huge square hole in the wall, which we imagine must have had something to do with the crew’s camera equipment.

To be fair, the team could never have imagined how huge TVs would become in the future.

In other words Friends As an anecdote, we recently told you how a director, James Burrows, explained why one of the show’s most memorable guest stars was, in his opinion, difficult to work with.

Opening up about what happened on set in his 2022 memoir, Directed by James Burrowshe remembers the episode “The one with all the rugby”.

Speaking of Helen Baxendale – who played Ross’s wife Emily – he said: “She was nice but not particularly funny. Schwimmer had no one to bounce off of. It was like clapping with one hand.”

He continued: “In sitcoms and any kind of romantic comedy, the funny side is just as important as the chemistry. We found that any new girlfriend Ross had to be as funny as Rachel.

“Often it’s impossible to recast a character, due to tight shooting deadlines or other logistical considerations. You don’t cast anyone as a Scarecrow unless it’s for an episode.”

Ouch.
