Prince Harry is reportedly “hurt” over a recent royal family decision regarding his title.

According to MailThe Duke of Sussex’s friend said: “Harry was really hurt that he wasn’t allowed to keep his official ties to the military.”

The source added: “They meant everything to him.”

The Duke, who has completed two deployments to Afghanistan, has held a number of honorary military posts in the past, including Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Officer Commanding RAF Honington and Commodore-in-Chief Small Ships and Diving.

These titles were bestowed on him by the late Queen Elizabeth II, but he lost them after officially stepping down as a working member of the royal family.

The update comes after a major setback for Harry in the US, when a petition with 50,000 signatures was filed against him.

The petition states that “awarding this honor to someone who does not reflect the intent of the award diminishes its value and disrespects Tillman’s memory.”

This month, Harry is expected to receive the Pat Tillman Memorial Award in Hollywood.

Tilman’s mother Mary Tilman has slammed Prince Harry for receiving the award named after her late son, saying: “I am shocked as to why they have chosen such a controversial and divisive individual to receive this award.”
