Michael Douglas visits Spain: 79-year-old Hollywood icon shares video message from his luxurious Mallorca home

HOLLYWOOD legend Michael Douglas celebrated July 4th on the Spanish coast, at his luxurious home on the Balearic island of Mallorca.

On Thursday, he shared a video via his Instagram account, in which he wished his countrymen a happy Independence Day.

“Good evening everyone,” the 79-year-old two-time Oscar winner says in the video.

“I just want to get a head start on July 4th, our Independence Day!” he continues. “240 years ago, this country was founded. Independence was the key, right?”

But he also had a serious message for his supporters, given the current political turmoil in the United States with the prospect of Donald Trump winning the next presidential election.

“I wish us all a happy Fourth of July, and maybe this year we’ll think of country first and party later,” he said.

“Have a great holiday!” he concluded.

Douglas has owned his estate in Majorca for more than 30 years and regularly spends time there in the summer with his wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

He previously shared the Valldemossa property with his first wife, Diandra Luker, but bought out her share several years ago.

In recent years he has tried to sell the S’Estaca estate, even narrating his own real estate video to tempt buyers.

But after putting it up for sale at 50 million euros and then significantly lowering the price, he ended up taking it off the market.
