Philadelphia police officer in critical condition after being shot during traffic stop

A Philadelphia police officer is in critical condition after being shot during a traffic stop in the 3500 block of F Street Saturday night. According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel, the officer was shot behind the ear and is fighting for his life. Mayor Parker confirmed that the officer is on life support and on a ventilator. The gunfire erupted shortly before 8 p.m., creating panic and chaos in the area. Commissioner Bethel revealed that the suspected shooter initially engaged in a barricade situation on East Wishart Street. However, SWAT teams cleared that area without finding him.
