No takers for Dileep movies? OTT decision leaves fans shocked – CINEMA – CINE NEWS

OTTs are now the preferred platforms for watching entertaining movies. Women at home constitute the large viewership of people now fixed with the OTT world. With movies released in theaters appearing on OTT within a month, there is little scope for anyone to complain. However, emerging reports indicate that OTT platforms are now reluctant to buy many Malayalam films that fared poorly in theatres.

As per reports, some recently released films by actor Dileep were not bought by any OTT platform. ‘Pavi Caretaker’, ‘Bandra’ and ‘Thankamani’ starring Dileep are still negotiating deals with OTT platforms but to no avail. ‘Bandra’ came amidst big hype but crashed terribly at the box office, leading the producer to even come against the crew members.

Earlier, it was rumoured that ‘Bandra’ would be shown through Disney Plus Hotstar, but the news soon faded out leaving the audience in ambiguity. At the same time, Akhil Marar, director and ex-Bigg Boss star, had alleged that the case against Dileep was used to destroy the actor’s career and he said the current spate of failures at box office was a result of the slander attack on cyberspace .
