BBC’s The Wheel has been cancelled as viewers say it’s ‘not worth having a TV’

BBC’s The Wheel has been cancelled as viewers say it’s ‘not worth having a TV’

Not everyone is a sports fan, and summer can be a frustrating time for those of us who would rather watch a game show than Wimbledon or a football match.

Many quiz fans look forward to spending their Saturday nights watching Michael McIntyre host The Wheel. On the show, three contestants team up with a variety of celebrity “expert” guests in a bid to win life-changing amounts of cash. Each episode features three contestants who are placed on a wheel located directly below the main celebrity wheel.

After a person is randomly selected, they are elevated to the center of the celebrity wheel above and remain there until they answer a question incorrectly.

Tonight, however, anyone who tuned in to watch The Wheel was disappointed. Kick-off was scheduled for 9pm, with England’s match against Switzerland having delayed its usual start time.

But once football was over, the BBC decided to expand its tennis coverage and show the Wimbledon match between Novak Djokovic and Alexei Popyrin, removing The Wheel from the schedule.

The Wheel fans were not happy about the decision. On Twitter/X, many people complained that their favorite show was being sacrificed in favor of tennis.
