Mumbai rains: Flight advisories, refund instructions, 5 trains cancelled | India News

As the monsoon continues, heavy rains in Mumbai have severely affected flight operations at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and led to cancellation of several trains. Indigo and Vistara Airlines issued advisories to passengers on Monday. Central Railway also cancelled 5 trains due to waterlogging on the tracks.

Airlines’ notices

IndiGo and Vistara Airlines have issued advisories to passengers due to the heavy rains that hit Mumbai. Vistara has advised passengers to anticipate heavy traffic congestion and slow vehicular movement en route to Mumbai airport, recommending additional travel time. IndiGo has also issued a similar advisory, informing passengers that flights to and from Mumbai are affected by the weather conditions. The airline has offered passengers the option to opt for an alternative flight or request a full refund through a link provided or by contacting its ground crew for immediate assistance.

Train cancellations and service restorations

Heavy rains also disrupted train services. The Central Railways reported cancellation of five trains due to waterlogging at several stations. The affected trains were:

  • – 12110 (MMR-CSMT) JCO
  • – 11010 (PUNE-CSMT) JCO
  • – 12124 (PUNE CSMT DECCAN) JCO
  • – 11007 (PUNE-CSMT DECCAN) JCO
  • – 12127 (CSMT-PUNE INTERCITY EXPERIENCE)

Services between Kalyan and Kasara, which were earlier disrupted, have now been restored. However, trains are running at reduced speed due to water over the tracks at several stations, including Sion and between Bhandup and Nahur. Train services were suspended for nearly an hour before resuming at a slower pace as the water receded.
Passengers are advised to keep themselves informed of travel advisories and plan their travel accordingly.
