Michael Olise sends message to Crystal Palace fans after completing £50.8m move to Bayern Munich

Michael Olise has now sent a message to Crystal Palace fans after sealing his £50.8million move to Bayern Munich.

The France U21 international was in Bavaria on Sunday to undergo a medical and sign his contract with the German giants – after they decided to trigger his release clause.

So what did Michael Olise say to Crystal Palace fans after his move to Bayern Munich was announced? Let’s see…

Michael Olise sends message to Crystal Palace fans

The 22-year-old, who is usually quite reserved when it comes to making public statements and addressing his supporters, has now sent a heartfelt message to the Selhurst Park faithful after sealing his £50.8million move to the Allianz Arena.

Olise wrote on Instagram: “Thank you to everyone at @cpfc. I am grateful for the journey I have been through as a player at this club and for the love everyone has shown me since day one. Thank you to all the staff, players and most importantly all the fans who have supported me. I will be forever grateful. I wish everyone at the club the best for the future ❤️💙”

Odsonne Edouard reacted by writing “crack ❤️🙏🏾” – meaning very good or skillful – while Tyrick Mitchell also reacted by sending two heart emojis to the winger.

Daniel Munoz also responded with a wordless message, sending the emojis “🔥🙏🏼👌🏼🪄” as if to suggest that Olise was a magician on the field, which he was, given the inclusion of a magic wand.

Why some fans might feel demoralized

While it was never a wise decision for a Crystal Palace fan to get attached to Olise – given he was clearly at a higher level – the fact that Roy Hodgson was in charge for much of the winger’s time at Selhurst Park does irritate us a little.

The 76-year-old’s disastrous tactics have often neutralised the Hammersmith man.

Olise has scored just six goals in 21 games under Hodgson – who also fielded him while injured against Brighton, causing a major setback – while he has scored four in just eight appearances under Oliver Glasner.

Of course, we’re always grateful to have seen Olise play for Crystal Palace in any capacity, even if we feel like we’ve somewhat wasted the presence of an elite talent with the wrong manager at the helm for the majority of his time in SE25.
