Nature-inspired, AI-powered footwear: Hydro Moc collection

Merrell 1TRL explores new paths with the latest models joining its Hydro Moc collection for the Spring/Summer 2024 season. The models take inspiration from nature – specifically the paths we travel with water and the notable force that is nature itself.

Since its inception, the Hydro Moc has stood out for its captivating design that replicates the way water finds its way around and over rocks. Where erosion occurs, there are also the desired paths – it is a natural phenomenon that shows that nature cannot be controlled, that it can only be circumvented, but that progression is inevitable.

The Merrell 1TRL design team works in collaboration with artificial intelligence programs and uses them to build on natural progression. They use artificial intelligence at a base point that influences the aesthetic of futuristic design, resulting in the next generation of Hydro Moc silhouettes representing “nature’s visceral path and 1TRL’s advancement in design and innovation.”
