Latest ‘Report’ Adds Bulletin Board Material to Raiders Locker Room Wall

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a number of additions to their roster and coaching staff this offseason. After finishing last season in dire need of additional talent, general manager Tom Telesco strategically used free agency and the NFL Draft to add quality talent to the team. The Raiders, who struggled on offense last season and returned all but one starter from one of the league’s best defenses, enter this season with high expectations within the organization.

In taking over as the team’s general manager, Telesco signed former Miami Dolphins defensive end Christian Wilkins. The move should help propel the Raiders’ defense into the top 10 this season or so. For the first time in years, the Raiders should be led by defense, as the offense, while talented, faces a much tougher battle than the defense. As the Raiders sort out the quarterback situation, which will likely take until early in the season, they will be leaning on their rising defense to help them get through it.

Telesco and the Raiders have done enough this offseason to be in contention for a wild card spot this season, as they were until the end of last season. However, the improvements made this offseason could be enough to help the Silver and Black clinch a playoff spot. The Raiders added Wilkins and have a quarterback competition between sophomore quarterback Aidan O’Connell and veteran quarterback Gardner Minshew.

Yet when USA Today’s Jarrett Bailey recently ranked each National Football League team’s chances of success next season by tier, the Raiders’ outlook was far from positive. Bailey doesn’t think the Raiders have enough talent at quarterback to succeed next season, even with the additions they made this offseason. Bailey ranked the Raiders in the seventh and final tier, titled “Good Luck in 2025,” making it clear that he doesn’t think this will be a successful season for the Raiders.

Sure, people are entitled to whatever opinions they want, but add this report to the voluminous others that have been released this offseason, and the Raiders have enough motivation on the scoreboard to line their locker room in Silver and Black.

“The Raiders have some stars, but they’re either going to use Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell at quarterback,” Bailey said. “Maxx Crosby is incredible, and I like the addition of Christian Wilkins, but that’s not going to give you a winning record.”
