Murder suspect arrested nearly a week after death of 13-year-old Orange County boy

ORLANDO, Florida – About a week later Rose Dieujuste, 13, was killedOrange County detectives have made an arrest in the case.

In a press releaseThe sheriff’s office said Jerry Dorisme, 28, was arrested Thursday night as a suspect in Dieujuste’s death.

“Investigators worked around the clock to solve this crime,” the statement read. “This arrest was made thanks to their hard work, the work of our CSI officers, and the help of community members who came forward with information after seeing the video we released.”

According to investigators, Dieujuste was found unconscious along South Rio Grande Avenue on July 4 with “obvious signs of trauma” and although she was taken to a hospital, she ultimately died.

Investigators later released surveillance footage of an unidentified man – now identified as Dorisme – who was seen leaving a parking lot.

Dorisme faces first-degree murder charges, although no further information about the investigation has been provided at this time.

The sheriff’s office is expected to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Friday to discuss the case.
