Men’s road cycling race: It will start under the Eiffel Tower. It is without a doubt one of my favorite events of the Games.

If you’re not familiar with this system, you can expect a small group to break away at the beginning, then they race for hours and hours, then the peloton catches up to the group towards the end and there’s a bunch sprint finish.

Well, it happens 99 times out of 100.

But sometimes, just sometimes, the breakaway stays ahead and takes the spoils all for themselves. I can’t wait…

Women’s hockey: the Netherlands have a 100% record in Group A. They lead 2-0 against Japan after nine minutes in their final group game. I’m not a betting man, but I already suspect they’ll finish the group with a 100% record as well.

Women’s eight rowing: Due to the delays of the men’s single sculls, we get this final first. I’d say it’s disrupted my meticulous preparation for this event, but *cough* I’m sure we’ll get through it. Italy, Canada, Romania, Great Britain, the United States and Australia are the six countries. Canada is defending its title.
