Who Died in Season 4 of ‘The Boys’?

Who Died in Season 4 of ‘The Boys’?

No other show kills off a character like “The Boys,” and it was no different in Season 4. Here’s everyone who was killed off in Prime Video’s epic superhero series.

There are a multitude of ways to disappear in the universe of “The Boys.” Some characters are crushed, others explode, and some are even burned alive. And while fans may have been waiting for the day when certain characters would be eliminated, others have brought tears of sadness to viewers’ eyes.

Season 4 of ‘The Boys’ ended on July 19, here are the main group of people who died last season.

Vought Lab Workers

Every villain has an origin story, and fans got to see a little more of Homelander (Antony Starr) in Season 5, Episode 3 when he visits the scientists at the secret lab where he was tested and raised as a child.

Although the Protector greeted the crew with a Fudgie the Whale cake, nothing was sweet—he wanted revenge. True to his style, the Protector led the group through memories of times from his childhood when the crew tortured him in the name of science. He recalled times when he was forced into a fire chamber where they tested extreme temperatures on his skin, despite the pain they caused him. He also recalled an incident where one of the workers, Marty, made fun of him for masturbating in his spare time. Throughout the ordeal, the scientists struggled with calling him the Protector, making mistakes, and calling him by his real name: John Gillman.

As revenge, Homelander burned one of the workers alive and forced Marty to masturbate in front of the entire team of scientists before ripping his penis off with a laser. There was one person that Homelander was lenient with (for some reason), Barbara Findley, who appeared to be another lab worker. During their exchange, viewers learn that Barbara was the only person who wasn’t afraid of Homelander as a child. The episode doesn’t go into depth on Homelander’s relationship with Barbara, but he must have a soft spot for her since she was the only one he left alive in his bloody massacre – though it seems he left her considerably traumatized.

In season 4, episode 5 of “The Boys,” Hughie (Jack QuaidO) was forced to kill his father after he became a deranged superhero who could phase through objects and went into an accidental rage.

It all started out amazingly. Hughie’s mother, Daphne Campbell (Rosemarie DeWitt), gave Hugh (Simon Pegg) the Compund V that had fallen out of Hughie’s pocket, and at first, Hugh felt fine. But things quickly took a turn for the worse after Daphne and Hughie found Hugh covered in blood after accidentally running over a hospital worker. Shocked, and apparently suffering from dementia, Hugh panics, while accidentally slaughtering people in the facility. Unfortunately, Hughie is forced to euthanize his father, as he deduces that the V seems to have a distorted reaction on brain-dead people. Now, it’s just Hughie and his once-absent mother left.

Grace Mallory

Ryan, the good guy that fans trusted so much (and still do a little bit), ended up taking down CIA Deputy Director and The Boys founder Grace Mallory. Grace, who hasn’t been around all season, came to visit her dying friend Butcher in the hospital and also convinced Ryan to be part of their plan to take down Homelander. Since Ryan is a genetic match for Homelander, he would be the only superhero capable of killing him.

When the two explained that they would like to put Ryan through some training to prepare him for his match against his father, it didn’t go down well with Ryan.

“No, I can’t! Don’t ask me!” Ryan exclaims. “Is that why you all want me to come with you? So you can teach me how to kill my father? I have to go!”

Grace tried to stop him and explain further, but the six-foot-thick walls of the hospital made it clear that Grace and Butcher were trapping him.

“You’re locking me in a cage unless I agree to be your weapon, like they did to my father,” Ryan said. Despite learning that Homelander had raped his mother Rebecca Butcher, rather than the affair stories he’d heard all along, he still wanted to leave. As Grace was about to use a button to trap him, Ryan pushed Grace against a wall and killed her. Shocked by his own actions, Ryan looked at Grace’s lifeless body, turned back to Butcher, and left.

In the Season 5 finale of “The Boys” Season 4, after Victoria Neuman agreed to join the Boys in an effort to defeat Homelander, Hughie brought the former Vice President and his daughter Zoey to their hideout to devise a game plan and outline Zoey’s security details.

However, everything went wrong once Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) showed up. Still reeling from the murder of The Boys founder Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), Grace Mallory, Butcher went completely against the group’s plans and killed Victoria by tearing her in half. The last time viewers saw Victoria, she was bleeding out on the floor. Now, Neuman’s power is bloodbending and it seemed like she had more to do in “Gen V,” so this may not be the last we see of her, but actress Claudia Doumit has been pretty consistent in her interviews about the fact that Neuman is indeed dead.

Cameron Coleman

Fearing she would become Homelander’s next victim, Ashley framed Vought News Network anchor Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison) — who had just left her as her dominatrix partner — as the person who leaked the footage proving the Starlighters didn’t murder three Hometeamers (Homelander’s fan base). The entire Vought team took turns beating Cameron to death. This all happened in season 4, episode 5 of “The Boys.”
