WACKO MARIA releases new collaboration with Bob Marley

For nearly two decades, WACKO MARIA has been creating playful, graphic collections inspired by the worlds of art, music, and film. The Japanese brand frequently draws inspiration from Bob Marley, most recently turning to the legendary reggae artist for a range of colorful streetwear apparel for spring 2023. Now, the brand has reunited with the late artist’s estate to produce a new ready-to-wear capsule celebrating this year’s biopic, Bob Marley: A Love.

The collection kicks off with a slew of bright Hawaiian shirts, each featuring iconic Marley imagery alongside his famous lines, such as “Don’t Worry About A Thing ‘Cause Every Little Thing Gonna Be Alright,” his label “Tuff Gong,” and his song “One Love.” The pocketed button-downs, meanwhile, take a simpler approach to Marley-inspired branding on the chest, with “One Love” and “Tuff Gong” emblems on either side of the silhouette.

Across the line, sweatshirts and t-shirts feature some of the artist’s most memorable images alongside the same text. Images of Marley singing into a microphone appear alongside labels such as “Jamming — Bob Marley & The Waiters,” while photos of him with a football are captioned after his “Redemption Song.” Notably, all sweatshirt and t-shirt designs are available in black and white finishes, with a number of light blue and green versions completing the range.

The latest WACKO MARIA x Bob Marley collection is now available online and in-store. Take a look at the range in the gallery above.
