'Modern Family' star Sarah Hyland was caught by a security detail that stopped masked burglars leaving her Los Angeles home

Modern family Star Sarah Hyland has claimed she arrested two masked men who broke into her home in Los Angeles, California.

Law enforcement officials told TMZ that Hyland, who was out of town at the time, reportedly saw the burglars leave his home last Saturday after receiving a notification on his security system.

According to law enforcement, the burglars gained access to Hyland’s home by breaking a window.

Sources reportedly told the outlet that after looking at her home security system on her cell phone, Hyland saw two masked burglars leaving her home.

Law enforcement officers reportedly arrived at Hyland’s home and searched the house. However, sources told the outlet that the burglars were not there when officers arrived on scene.

According to the outlet, Hyland will take inventory of the items in his home upon his return to determine what the burglars may have taken.

Several Hollywood actors and other celebrities have been victims of home burglaries while they were away. In January, Lee Byung-hun discovered that his Los Angeles home had been burglarized while he was away.

The house of Boogie Tillmon, the ex-wife of South Park Co-creator Trey Parker was also robbed, with burglars reportedly stealing around $500,000 worth of items.

In December 2023, masked burglars stole a gun from actor Keanu Reeves’ Hollywood Hills home while he was away.

In early July, Los Angeles Police Chief Dominic Choi revealed that the number of burglaries in Los Angeles had increased by 4 percent, according to NBC Los Angeles.

“The people who commit these high-end burglaries know what they’re looking for and they’re in and out within minutes,” Choi said.
