South Carolina senator sends warning to Trump about Harris

South Carolina senator sends warning to Trump about Harris

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., warned former President Trump to focus on Vice President Harris’ poor judgment rather than her legacy as he seeks a second term in the Oval Office.

Graham was a guest on “Fox News Sunday” where Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich asked him about Trump’s comments about Harris’ racial identity.

“Here’s what I would say to President Trump. My problem with Kamala Harris is not her legacy, it’s her judgment,” Graham said. “She’s been wrong about everything. When she tried to explain what she would do about inflation and the coming recession, it made no sense. It’s gibberish.”

This week, Trump posted an image of Harris’ birth certificate on Truth Social after receiving widespread criticism for remarks he made during a question-and-answer session at the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago on Wednesday.

“She’s always been of Indian descent, and she was just promoting her Indian heritage,” the former president said during the question-and-answer session. “I didn’t know she was black until a few years ago when she became black and now she wants to be known as black. So, I don’t know. Is she Indian or black?”

Heinrich asked Graham about Trump’s comments and whether they had alienated millions of black voters, including those in his home state of South Carolina.

The senator said 30 percent of his state is African-American, adding that former Gov. Nikki Haley is of Indian descent and one of her children married an African-American football player who attended Clemson University.

“Every day we talk about her legacy and not her terrible, dangerous liberal record throughout her political life. It’s a good day for her and a bad day for us,” Graham said. “So I encourage President Trump to go after Kamala Harris for her poor judgment.”

Graham also sent a message to Trump on the show, telling him that this was his election to lose.

“It’s important that you win to restore a broken border and to restore order to the world,” he said. “The American people want their problems solved. I think your presidency has been an incredible presidency for national security and prosperity.”
