Shawn Levy Talks Chris Evans’ Post-Credits Scene and His Original Casting Plans for Kidpool for DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE — GeekTyrant

Director Shawn Levy had a lot of ideas for characters and storylines when it came to his recent Marvel blockbuster film, Deadpool and Wolverine. Him and Ryan Reynolds They threw a lot of stuff at the wall, and what remained was the great movie they produced, full of cameos and winks to the fans, while still telling a solid story.

One of these fun character cameos was made by Chris Evanswho we know in the MCU as Captain America, except this appearance was a callback to his pre-MCU role as Johnny Storm at the beginning The Fantastic Four movies.

As for the difficulty of getting Evans to pull off the gross post-credits scene we all loved, Levy raves about Evans’ process, saying Well:

“We expected Chris to need multiple takes, because that page had some extremely crude and vulgar language. Chris came in, went off the book, did it in two takes, had us laughing our heads off, and that’s what you see in the movie.

“I think Chris had a great time, and I know our movie benefited from the fact that Chris plays Johnny in a very different way than Captain America. Gone is the nobility and cleanliness of Captain America. This is a Johnny Storm inspired by Boston and Chris Evans.

“I feel like it’s more Chris than the original Chris Evans. Chris is a Boston boy. I should go back and watch the original The Fantastic Fourbut I don’t think he played Johnny like the Boston boy he played in Deadpool and Wolverine — and for me it’s perfection.

This is awesome! Evans was awesome in the movie, and it’s cool that he had so much fun doing it. The others who had fun doing it were pretty much the entire Reynolds/Lively clan. Ryan Reynoldswife of , actress Blake Livelyplayed the role of Lady Deadpool in the film, and two of their children played the roles of Kidpool and Babypool.

It was a family affair. But there was one child that Levy and Reynolds had originally considered for the role of Kidpool, and Levy spoke about it in the interview, saying:

“If Walker Scobell If he had stopped evolving just before puberty, he would have definitely been Kidpool. That was his dream. Ryan and I contacted him once we realized he was going to be too old now, both too tall and with too low a voice.

“Puberty is what it is, and all the Hollywood dreams in the world can’t stop it. So we called Walker and explained why he couldn’t be Kidpool, and he was completely understanding.

“My long hug with Walker at the New York premiere was one of my favorite moments of the entire evening.”

Walker Scobell starred in Levy’s 2022 action-adventure film The Adam Project So he was close to the director and the star. They would have liked to be in this film, but unfortunately, time got the better of the young actor.

But everything went well, and Deadpool and Wolverine It’s one of the most fun things you’ll experience at the theater this year.
