‘By the grace of God…’: Vinod Kambli gives an update on his health after an old video goes viral. Watch

Former Indian cricket team batsman Vinod Kambli has left all his fans in complete shock after a video, showing him in a deteriorated condition, went viral on social media. In the video, the 52-year-old is seen struggling to walk properly as people had to support him and pull him out of the road safely. Kambli appeared slightly disoriented and was struggling to find his balance. However, Kambli, who has represented India in 117 international matches, has given an update on his health. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Kambli gave a ‘thumbs up’ and said that he is perfectly fine.

He said: “By the grace of God I am fit, I am doing well and I am surviving.” He also said he was still fit enough to go on the field and play.

A childhood friend of legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Kambli played over 100 ODIs for India and 17 Test matches. The talented left-hander scored close to 10,000 runs in first-class cricket with an individual best score of 262.

Meanwhile, at the international level, the Indian cricket team lost a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka by a score of 0–2. After the first match ended in a draw, Charith Asalanka and his teammates defeated India in the other two matches and won the series.

It was Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI series win against India since 1997. Talking about the 3rd ODI, after making a competitive 249 on tight turn at Premadasa, India were bowled out for a dismal 138 in 26.1 overs.

It was former India batter Gautam Gambhir’s first tour as the new head coach and the team suffered a shocking defeat.

“I don’t think it’s a problem (spin issues). But it’s something we have to look at individually and as part of a game plan. It’s a joke, when you play for India, there’s never any complacency. When I’m captain, there’s no chance of that happening. But credit to good cricket,” India captain Rohit Sharma said after the defeat.

“Sri Lanka played better than us. We studied the conditions and went with the combinations, there are also players who need to be watched, hence the changes,” he added.
