Trump confuses Biden and Harris in town hall gaffe, internet says he’s ‘not fit to serve’

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump forgot about his upcoming general election opponent for a brief moment as he spoke at a town hall event moderated by Fox News host Sean Hannity in the swing state of Pennsylvania on Wednesday (September 5).

In attacking his political rivals, Trump mentioned President Joe Biden as his rival instead of Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

While Biden initially sought reelection this year, he faced growing criticism about his mental acuity from across the aisle, prompting him to drop out of the 2023 race and back Harris.

In a viral clip uploaded by the Kamala HQ account on X (formerly Twitter), Trump can be seen saying at the event, “I can’t imagine New Hampshire voting for him. Anybody in New Hampshire, because they’re watching right now, but anybody in New Hampshire voting for Biden and Kamala… I really think…” The video ended before Trump could finish his rambling train of thought.

Donald Trump calls Kamala Harris’ nomination as Democratic candidate ‘unfair’

At the event, Donald Trump argued that it was “unfair” for Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic nominee after presumptive nominee Joe Biden withdrew on July 21, Newsweek reported.

“It’s very unfair,” he said. “She ran against (Biden) in the primary, she got zero votes and she was the first one out… He got 14 million votes and they threw him out. It was really a coup when you think about it. And the woman who came in last, the person who came in last (becomes the nominee).”

However, the publication fact-checked the GOP candidate, saying that Harris withdrew from the 2020 race before any votes were cast, and that she was not the first to drop out of the race that year.

Biden withdrew from the race before being officially nominated as the Democratic nominee, while Harris’ rise to the top spot was within Democratic Party rules.

Trump dubbed ‘crazy grandpa’ after naming Biden as rival

Donald Trump was brutally trolled online for his Town Hall mistake.

“Seriously, take grandpa with dementia off stage and back to the nursing home,” one person wrote.

“Trump is in trouble,” said another.

“Not fit to serve,” retorted a third.

“Donald is sick. Maybe he should just relax and drop out of the race,” said a fourth.

“No, seriously, too old Don Trump,” a fifth mocked.

“Trump is old and rusty…he needs a rest,” added another.
