Tav Shaffer throws for 320 yards, leads Jamie Graham, Lipscomb to first win

Tav Shaffer threw for 320 yards and Lipscomb Academy first-year coach Jamie Graham earned his first win in the Mustangs’ 35-21 victory over Briarcrest Christian.

Shaffer completed 17 of 26 passes and also scored three touchdowns. Cam Blivens caught nine passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns to lead Lipscomb Academy (1-2). Drew Patterson had 24 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown and Dante Fowler had 106 yards and a touchdown on three receptions for the Mustangs.

BGA 35, Nashville Christian 28: Kaedyn Marable completed 19 of 27 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball 11 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns for BGA (3-0). Ethan Kellum added 152 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries and Locke Kennedy had three catches for 113 yards. Jared Curtis completed 18 of 26 passes for 207 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and carried the ball 10 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns for Nashville Christian (2-1).

Brentwood 56, Hendersonville 14: Gavyn Nelson carried the ball 11 times for 88 yards and three touchdowns and caught four passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns for Brentwood (2-1). Reece Lackey returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and Caleb Sams completed 8 of 18 passes for 47 yards with a touchdown and an interception for Hendersonville (2-1).

Davidson Academy 31, Portland 20: Caden Stroud carried 27 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns for Davidson Academy (2-1). K’saun Barksdale completed 9 of 19 passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns and Wes Harper caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Keilen Dalton carried 12 times for 123 yards and Aiden Ball added 120 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries for Portland (2-1).

Green Hill 20, Summit 0: Kannon Burroughs completed 15 of 31 passes for 133 yards and carried 18 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns for Green Hill (3-0). Aaron Mattingly added 52 yards on six carries and Nick Owens, Jr. carried three times for 44 yards. Mason McElhaney completed 5 of 19 passes for 85 yards and carried seven times for 31 yards for Summit (1-2).

DCA 56, Middle Tennessee Heat 21: Mitchell Carey completed 17 of 31 passes for 274 yards and six touchdowns and carried three times for 28 yards to lead DCA (3-0). Grayson Scragg had seven catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns and King Gardner added 109 yards on 17 carries. Ely Whitaker completed 3 of 6 passes for 56 yards for the Heat.

FRA 48, Webb 14: Cam Glenn carried the ball 10 times for 146 yards and four touchdowns to lead FRA (3-0). Mike Hassell returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and Roman Mahlerwein was 5 of 6 for 55 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers. Rayene Chiha carried the ball five times for 83 yards and a touchdown for Webb (2-1).

Marshall County 40, Base Camp 7: Tyler Thompson completed 17 of 21 passes for 219 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another touchdown to lead Marshall County (3-0). Marcus O’Neal caught seven passes for 85 yards and a touchdown and Aja Jones had 63 yards and a touchdown on four receptions.

MBA 31, MUS 0: Colton Erickson carried the ball 12 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns to lead MBA (2-1). Will Turcotte added 53 yards on a run and Brooklen Davis carried the ball seven times for 46 yards for the Big Red.

Moore County 21, Eagleville 14: Kaleb Snitzer carried the ball 11 times for 81 yards and a touchdown and Noah Lilly returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown in a loss for Eagleville (1-2). Alex Bryant had 10 tackles and a fumble recovery and Marshall Spann had eight tackles for the Eagles.

Mount Juliet 27, Gallatin 0: Jon Mikael Crudup ran for 127 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries as Mt. Juliet improved to 3-0. Tyler Travers and Morkos Rezkalla added touchdowns on the ground, and Eli Driver ran for 101 yards on five carries. The Golden Bears held Gallatin (1-2) to fewer than 100 yards of offense.

Oakland 49, Haywood 6: Kyler Creasy completed 9 of 17 passes for 144 yards and four touchdowns to lead Oakland (3-0). Kemani Bass had five receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns and Tamari Hill ran seven times for 82 yards. Chase Bandy returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown for the Patriots.

Ravenwood 14, Blackman 7: Ravenwood quarterback Femi Babalola completed 5 of 11 passes for 103 yards and ran for the game-tying touchdown with 4:29 left. Ravenwood quarterback Maverick Chance ran for 64 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. Blackman tied the game at 7 in the second quarter on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jonathan Hamby to John Dragoo.

Richland 34, Wayne County 22: Case Butler carried the ball eight times for 122 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Wayne County (0-3). Drew Bevis carried the ball 24 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns and Cayson Castleman added 53 yards on 12 carries.

Smyrna 30, Siegel 13: Britten Judkins completed 14 of 22 passes for 140 yards and Adin Augustine carried the ball 25 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns to lead Smyrna (1-2). Tyreque McCarver caught seven passes for 78 yards and had five tackles for the defense. Tristan Thorton completed 16 of 32 passes for 171 yards and two interceptions and Braelyn Albea carried the ball 21 times for 69 yards and a touchdown for Siegel (1-2).

Stewarts Creek 35, Hillsboro 0: Jerry Taylor completed 9 of 13 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns for Stewarts Creek (2-1). Jeremy Smith caught six passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns and Caleb Floyd added 85 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Trey Hodges completed 11 of 17 passes for 120 yards with an interception for Hillsboro (1-2).

Summertown 26, Hickman County 12: Jaden Stoll completed 5 of 10 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown and Logan Love had one reception for 90 yards and a touchdown for Summertown (3-0). Kaden McCrory added 69 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries for the Eagles. Brandie Craft completed 9 of 18 passes for 126 yards for Hickman County.

Tullahoma 21, Rockvale 19: Chase Dodson kicked a 50-yard field goal to give Tullahoma (1-2) the win. Lucas Reed completed 16 of 23 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns and Marvancy Johnson had 20 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown. Khani Johnson added 162 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions for the Wildcats. Jaevion Elliott completed 12 of 22 passes for 208 yards and had seven carries for 27 yards for Rockvale.
