Several schools increase security presence due to social media message

Due to mixed messages on social media platform TikTok regarding school safety, several schools in Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln and Mecklenburg counties are increasing their security presence.

North Belmont Elementary School posted the following on their Facebook page.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reiterated the Facebook post and is investigating the posts.
