Terence Crawford eyes boxing fight with Canelo Alvarez: 'Get me in it, coach!' | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats & Rumors

Terence Crawford looks set to take on the super middleweight champion.

After Canelo Alvarez defeated Edgar Berlanga on Saturday to defend his WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight world titles, Crawford posted on social media indicating he wanted a chance to fight Alvarez.

“Put me in the game, coach!” Crawford wrote to X after the fight.

Álvarez defeated Berlanga by unanimous decision with scores of 117-110, 118-109 and 118-109, continuing his reign of dominance in the division. He has won five straight fights and improved his record to 62-2-2 with Saturday’s victory.

But he could have a serious competitor in Crawford.

The 36-year-old is a perfect 41-0, most recently defeating Israil Madrimov in a unanimous decision in August to win the interim WBA and vacant WBO light middleweight titles.

A fight between the two stars is far from being expected, but Crawford at least has the support of Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.

“I’ll give Canelo what I think is a fair price,” Alalshikh said after Crawford’s win last month, according to ESPN. Mike Coppinger“If he accepts, he will deal directly with me to get the deal done. I don’t want anybody in the middle. I guaranteed Crawford a big fight, I want Canelo for Crawford and Crawford wants Canelo. But if Canelo is crazy (with his financial demands), I will still guarantee Crawford the fight he wants.”

Crawford is about to end his boxing career, but he would like to end his career by beating one of the best boxers, Alvarez. The question is whether Alvarez will offer him that fight.
