Behind the Scenes of Christopher Reeve and Dana Reeve’s Breathtaking Love Story

“Of course, it brings up a range of emotions, from happy memories to heartbreak and immense sadness,” Matthew Reeve, whose framed “S” from his father’s Superman suit now hangs in his own son’s bedroom, told E! News. And hearing his sister and half-brother, for the first time, “tell parts of the story from their perspective, challenge is not the right word.”

Will, who was 13 when his mother died, understood that feeling. “We’re so protective of each other, we’re so close, we love each other so much,” he said, “that there were some tough times, seeing how this shared experience affected each of them in their own way.”

He added: “Seeing my mother and father in all their glory brings me back to a happy place, but tinged with sadness, of course. And I give space and weight to those things equally, because it’s part of the human experience.”

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is released in select theaters on September 21, followed by an encore showing on September 25, which would have been the actor’s 72nd birthday.
