BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing fans angry over new ‘unfair’ advantage scandal | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

The Strictly Come Dancing live show has already been hit by repair claims.

Many celebrities practice on the dance floor due to the nature of their careers, such as actors and singers, but this year one star has taken quite a few dance classes throughout her career.

Former Love Island legend Tasha Ghouri not only has a background, but outside of her reality TV fame, professional dancing is her day job – even if that’s not the case when it comes to ballroom moves.

Tasha, who is also deaf and uses a cochlear implant to help her hear, was criticised by BBC fans as she gave a standout performance with her professional partner Aljaz Skorjanec, scoring a whopping 30 out of 40 in the first week.

However, some avid watchers of the glittering spectacle have raised eyebrows, pointing out Tasha’s background in dancing. Before finding fame on Love Island, Tasha pursued a career as a model and dancer.

The 26-year-old started ballet at just three years old and later trained in commercial street dancing.

“I love Tasha but she’s not supposed to be on the show because she’s already a PROFESSIONAL DANCER. #Strictly,” one viewer tweeted (X) as Strictly aired on Saturday night. “I love Tasha Ghouri but is it a bit unfair that she’s on Strictly when she’s a dancer? #Strictly,” another added, while a third remarked: “Tasha was great and has the potential to be even better but come on, an 8? A bit high. #strictly,” the Mirror reported.

“Don’t the #Strictly judges know Tasha was a professional dancer?” one Strictly Come Dancing viewer wondered online. However, Tasha’s supporters were quick to rally behind her.

One ardent supporter tweeted: “I wonder why all the Karens and Deborahs who had a problem with Layton being a professional dancer last year have no problem with Tasha #Strictly,” while another fan expressed frustration: “Some of you shouldn’t be pissing me off. People should leave Tasha alone and let her enjoy her Strictly journey please. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”

Tasha and her partner Andrew Le Page have dismissed any concerns about the famous Strictly Come Dancing curse, admitting Andrew and Aljaz already have a bond.

She told The Sun: “He’s not worried at all. On the contrary, he was really happy and saw what a great partnership we had. He came to rehearsals the other day and had a look around.”

Tasha happily recounted a humorous episode where “Aljaz taught Andrew some dance moves, which was funny.”
