Children’s Theatre Company Announces Artists and Creative Team for MOYA by Zip Zap Circus

The Children’s Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team for MOYA by Zip Zap Circus, from Cape Town, South Africa, which will be the first production of the CTC’s 2024-25 season.

Zip Zap Circus’ MOYA features an original soundtrack composed by Josh Hawks. Audiences will soar in the visual spectacle of this thrilling acrobatic performance set against the backdrop of the Cape Town skyline! Comedic jugglers, unicycle dancers and authentic gumboots dancing will take you on a freewheeling journey that explores the spirit and vitality of township life. Watch a simple city bench become the spark of a new friendship and feel the energetic beat of South African pop music. You will relish this thrilling feat of acrobatics and rhythmic movements that celebrate the joy of sharing community with one another.

Zip Zap Circus’ MOYA will be performed September 12 – October 20, 2024 on the UnitedHealth Group Stage at CTC (2400 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55404). MOYA performers from Zip Zap Circus are Bridgette Berning, Jason Barnard, Matthew Risk, Lukhanyo Samson, Masizakhe Kovi, Luqmaan Benjamin, Phelelani Ndakrokra, Vuyani Lottering, Akho Narwele and Jacobus Claassen.

Zip Zap Circus’ MOYA creative team includes Brent van Rensburg (Artistic Director), Brin Schoellkopf (Artistic Coach & Artistic Director), Sabine van Rensburg (Virtual Director & Artistic Consultant), Nikolas Pulka (Artistic Coach & Creative Director), Josh Hawks (Musical Director), Adele Bank (Choreographer), Kieran McGregor (Lighting Designer), Beaura Jacobs (Costume Designer) and Sbonakaliso Ndaba (Gumboots Choreographer).
