The shortage of railway staff has once again caused train cancellations in the north.

Two journeys on the Far North line were cancelled on Tuesday, with rail bosses warning they were having difficulty finding replacement carriages at the time of writing.

The 10.41am Inverness-Wick and 4pm Wick-Inverness trains, which were due to use the same train, have both been cancelled.

These were the only cancellations across the entire ScotRail network at the time of writing.

Confirming their cancellation on the Website journeycheck.comA ScotRail spokesperson, speaking at 5.23am, said: “Unfortunately we are struggling to find replacement buses.

“We are still trying but until we have some measures in place we recommend that you make your own arrangements. Please use the help point or speak to a member of staff for any further information.”
