Two SMU students surrender to police after dorm assault

The victim told police he was physically assaulted by three unknown men in his bedroom. Surveillance photos of the suspects were released Friday.

DALLAS – Police said two people accused of assaulting a student in his room are in custody.

The SMU Police Department said the suspects in the burglary and assault were two SMU students who turned themselves in to police late Monday night.

A student staying at Ware Residential Commons reported being assaulted by unknown assailants in his room. He told police he believed it was retaliation for a previous incident, but did not know who they were.

On Monday, SMU police issued an alert and released surveillance photos of the suspects.

The names of the suspects and possible motive are not known.

SMU police would not release further information.
