Highland County Health Department Announces Grant Opportunity for Water Bottle Filling Station

The Highland County Health Department is announcing an opportunity for community facilities to install free water bottle filling stations throughout the health district, thanks to a grant funded by the Ohio Department of Health.

With this grant, the Department of Health was able to secure 50 water bottle filling stations with the goal of reducing disease transmission through touchless filling stations, minimizing single-use plastic bottles, and promoting water consumption.

All applicants must complete an application form to be eligible for a water bottle filling station and will be scored using a rubric system. If more eligible applications are received than the grant can provide, distribution of water bottle filling stations will be based on the application score.

To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must:

• Be located within the health district (all areas of Highland County).

• Be a government agency, non-profit, for-profit or other organization.

• Agree to all required elements in the application and submit a fully completed application with all supporting documents.

Additionally, recipients of a water bottle filling station will be responsible for installing and maintaining the station.

All applicants must complete this grant application and submit all supporting documents by October 31 at 4:00 p.m. Additional applications will be accepted until grant funds are exhausted.
