Mitchell school board to evaluate bids for LB Williams Elementary School roof repairs – Mitchell Republic

MITCHELL — The Mitchell School Board will consider multiple bids for a roof repair project at LB Williams Elementary School Thursday morning.

The special board meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday in Room 10 of the Mitchell Career and Technical Education Academy.

The board will consider nine separate bids to re-roof the L.B. Williams Elementary School building on University Avenue on the Dakota Wesleyan University campus. Mitchell School District Superintendent Joe Childs said the building’s roof needs extensive repairs.

“As previously discussed, the roof at LB Williams Elementary School is in poor condition. Through the RFP, the Mitchell School District received nine bids for the roof repairs on that building,” Childs said in his meeting agenda notes.

The council will consider the following bids for the project. The bids are for the replacement of the entire roof.

  • $483,061 – Guaranteed roofing and sheet metal
  • $549,427 – JP Roofing Systems
  • $879,200 – Herzog Roofing
  • $634,420 – ARS Roofing
  • $476,000 – White Hawk Roof
  • $495,774 – Dalsin Roofing and Sheet Metal
  • $732,000 – Raintite Roofing
  • $540,208 – Roofing and construction company
  • $2,672,321 – NorthStar Logistics

Childs said in his notes that he would recommend to the board that it approve the $476,000 offer from White Hawk Roofing. The company is based in Gretna, Nebraska.

The meeting is open to the public. The Mitchell Republic will stream the meeting live on its website.
