The incident, police say, led to further investigation into Evans, which ultimately led to a warrant and an arrest for possession of child sexual abuse images.

The North Conway Police Chief thanked the school resource officer who took the matter seriously and the two students who spoke up and reported it.

“Most of all, I would like to thank the two Kennett students who had the awareness to know something was wrong and the courage to take appropriate action by reporting the incident,” Chief Christopher Mattei wrote in a press release.

The chief added that the investigation into Evans is still ongoing but that he does not believe there is any further threat to the public.
