Kerry Washington Announces Cancellation of 'Unprisoned'

Kerry Washingtonthe last show of, On the loosewill not continue. She announced the news of its cancellation on Friday while sharing her gratitude to the fans who supported the series for two seasons.

“Ladies and gentlemen, this is the conclusion on Unprisoned”, Washington wrote on Instagramalongside a montage of behind-the-scenes moments. “This beautiful series that we have poured so much of our heart and soul into will unfortunately not be returning for a season 3. But I wanted you to hear it from me because even though we are super disappointed, we are also crazy, deeply grateful.”

“Thank you to ABCS, Hulu & Onyx for giving us a creative home,” she continued. “And most importantly, we thank you ALL – for watching, laughing, crying, screaming, dancing, rolling your eyes, clapping (and everything in between) with us every episode. It was such a blessing. And we thank you.

On the loose debuted in 2023. It followed Washington’s character, Paige Alexander, a marriage and family therapist whose life is turned upside down following that of her father (Delroy Lindo) release from prison and subsequent move into her home, where she lives with her son (Faly Rakotohavana).

Richardson brand, Jordyn McIntosh And Jee Young Han is also the star of the series, whose second season premiered in July.
