Semi-truck catches fire, closes traffic on I-65 South

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A semi-truck caught fire on I-65 between Jefferson Street and Kennedy Bridge. The southbound lanes will be blocked as LMPD, EMS and Louisville Fire and Rescue work on clearing the crash.

A spokesperson for LMPD said that access to I-64 East and I-71 North from I-65 South will open “soon” even though southbound traffic will remain closed.

This accident comes shortly after another accident involving a semi overturning near the same area.
