Man seriously injured in Philadelphia subway shooting

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania. — A 44-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot several times at a Fern Rock subway station Monday morning, according to police.

The shooting happened around 10:47 a.m. at the station located at 5600 North Broad Street. The victim was struck three times in the back and was quickly transported by police to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

Authorities made an arrest in connection with the incident and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released.

  • Utica police investigate after argument ends with stabbing in the face

    Utica, NY – Utica police and fire units were dispatched around 8 p.m. Thursday to a residence in the 1400 block of Kemble St as part of a stabbing investigation.

    Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated that they had gotten into an argument with a man they knew. During the argument, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the face with a fork.

    The injuries suffered by the victim are not life-threatening. The suspect, David Bowie, 38, of Utica, was arrested without incident.

    Bowie was then transported to the Utica Police Department, where he was charged with attempted second-degree assault.

  • Robbery attempt reported in Brooklyn

    BROOKLYN, NY — A 33-year-old woman was attacked during an attempted robbery in Sunset Park earlier this month, police said.

    The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, in front of 644 4th Avenue. The victim was approached by an unidentified individual who attempted to take his bag by force. During the fight, the attacker hit the woman in the back of the head before fleeing on foot.

    The victim refused medical attention at the time of the incident, according to authorities.

    Police are continuing their investigation and no arrests have been made.
