New video highlights deadly shooting inside North Austin HEB

AUSTIN, TXNew video provided to FOX 7 Austin sheds light on a deadly shooting inside an HEB in North Austin on Friday.

In the video, a security guard can be seen in the background and a person on the ground. Someone is heard on camera saying “He just (expletive) killed him” and another person is heard saying: “They shot him seven times, bro.”

An eyewitness told FOX 7 Austin that the person who fired the shots was a store security guard. However, Austin police have not confirmed this information.

Austin police said in a Sept. 27 briefing that officers were en route to a trespassing call at the HEB on Canyon Ridge Drive in the Tech Ridge Center, when Austin 911 received several calls about a shooting there -down.

Officers arrived on scene at 3:47 p.m. and found a man showing “clear signs of trauma.” Officers and ATCEMS attempted life-saving efforts and the man was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m.

Police arrested someone for questioning Friday evening and the store was closed for investigation.

It remains unclear whether the person who was shot was the subject of a trespassing call.
