On Friday, September 27, it was reported that Syfy and USA Network had decided not to renew the hit television series for a fourth time.

Heartbroken by the news, Chucky Creator Don Mancini said, “I am heartbroken to learn that ‘Chucky’ will not be returning for a fourth season.”

In response to the cancellation, the cast of the series also shared their grief.

On her Instagram account, Jennifer Tilly, who played the character of Tiffany Valentine, Chucky’s lover and accomplice in the series, wrote: “I am sad to announce that “Chucky,“The TV series was just canceled. Go towards the light Tiffany, go towards the light…”

She also took to her handle X and expressed her sincere gratitude to the fans who started #RenewChucky which stayed trending for a month.

Meanwhile, Devon Sawa, who played a wide range of characters in the third season of the series, teased the series’ renewal by expressing high hopes for the franchise’s return in the future.

“CHUCKY NEVER ENDS!!…He just shows up again,” Sawa replied.

Adding further, he said, “I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, this show has been one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever had. I’m sad, but I’m excited to see where it goes. RIP – “The Series”.

Fiona Dourif, who played Nica Pierce, said: “This job was a dream and I am grateful for every minute of it. *we take a small red bow*.

Chucky is the eighth main installment in the Child’s Play franchise and is a sequel to the seventh installment, Cult of Chucky.

The 1988 film Child’s Play was followed by numerous sequels, including Child’s Play 2 (1990), Child’s Play 3 (1991), Bride Of Chucky (1998), Seed of Chucky (2004), Curse of Chucky (2013), and Cult of Chucky. (2017).
