Star is strictly supported as he shares emotional statement about family member | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Jody Cundy has been flooded with support as he mourns the death of a family member. The 45-year-old Paralympic athlete was forced to say an emotional goodbye to his cat, who has been in his life for three years.

Jody announced that her beloved pet died after being hit by a car, leaving a huge hole in their family’s hearts. On Instagram, the cyclist shared a gallery of photos of Oscar, including one of them together on the sofa.

The former swimmer wrote an emotional message to his supporters expressing his devastation at the tragedy. He began: “Today we said a tearful goodbye to the most beautiful and loving cat I have ever known.

“Oscar was such a beloved cat, with an incredible individual personality, the sharpest claws I have ever known, and the softest, most gorgeous fur ever.”

Jody continued: “Unfortunately he was hit by a car on one of the side roads near our house last night and passed away. The kindness of a few managed to bring him back to our house this morning so we May we bid him our most sincere farewell.

“So tonight we raise a glass to the magnificent Oscar. You left a whole in my heart, at @lulubo1982 and the minions, Emily and Charlotte, and your brother Monty.

“You will miss Oscar Bosca, but there will always be a special place in our hearts for you and the joy you brought us for 3 years.”

He signed the touching message: “I miss you, you monster.” Fans rushed to support Jody by sending messages of condolence in the comments. One wrote: “What a handsome boy. I’m so sorry for your loss. Take care.”

A second wrote: “I’m so sorry. Sending all our fluffy love to you and the whole family.” Another added: “I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s always hard losing a fur baby.”

Someone else shared: “I’m so sorry to see your news. It’s so painful to lose such a beloved companion. I hope you and your family are holding on as best as possible. A big hug to all of you.”

Jody, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023. He was the fourth contestant to leave the hit BBC show with dance partner Jowita Przystal.
