Cal fans were excited for Saturday night’s game against No. 8 Miami and sent the Hurricanes an early message.

During ESPN’s opening minutes College Game Day at Berkley, the large group of fans in attendance were heard chanting “F–k Miami!” Co-host Pat McAfee posted a video of the moment:

Cal is in its first season in the ACC and started the 2024 campaign 3-0 before losing its first conference game to Florida State 14-9 last week.

Although the Hurricanes haven’t visited Berkley since 1990, a few key figures will be familiar with their surroundings during Saturday’s game.

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal previously coached at Oregon and struggled against Cal while competing in the Pac-12. Hurricanes star quarterback Cam Ward threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-39 loss to the Bears while playing for Washington State last season, and leading rusher Damien Martinez passed for 89 yards and a touchdown while playing for Oregon State in a 52–40 victory over Cal.

Miami enters Saturday’s game with a 5-0 record and has been one of the most impressive teams in the country this year, rising from 19th place at the start of the season to 8th place this week. The Hurricanes are hoping to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff, so they’ll look to keep their unbeaten streak going when they take on the Bears on Saturday night.
